The late entrepreneur was born in Singapore into a Zhao’an Hokkien household in 1955. He graduated from Bukit Panjang Government High School.
After completing his high school education, Sim Wong Hoo received his degree from Ngee Ann Polytechnic’s Electrical & Electronic Engineering department In 1975.
The institution used to be known as Ngee Ann Technical College back then.
Mr. Sim worked in the private engineering sector for a year after completing the required National Service.
