The late Sinisa Mihajlovic was a known Serbian professional football manager. The former footballer coached Fiorentina in October 2010.

Sinisa Mihajlovic Illness Before Death: What Happened To Him?

Football manager Sinisa Mihajlovic died battling leukemia. He passed away on Friday, 16 December this year, at fifty-three.

Sadly, Mihajlovic was diagnosed with leukemia in 2019. The man bravely battled his disease for almost three years up until the tragic ending.

Sinisa, the free-kick specialist, passed away in a Rome hospital battling leukemia just three days before the 2022 World Cup Finals. 

Mihajlovic revealed his sickness in 2019 after winning big, coaching Bologna. He had become the favorite of fans and players alike.

The players respected their coach, Mihajlovic, for his desire to remain in the job even after his diagnosis. His players even visited their coach at Mihajlovic’s hospital window. 

Sinisa received treatment at Mihajlovic’s hospital after he was sacked in September. 

Unfortunately, Mihajlovic didn’t survive seeing the 2022 World Cup Finals.

Italian league Serie A honored him by featuring a heartfelt condolence on their Twitter handle saying:

Serie A is in deep pain by the passing away of legend, Sinisa Mihajlovic.  

Eventually, his health worsened daily in December this year. His family, fans, and friends will miss the legendary player and coach in this year’s Christmas.

The Late Serbian coach Sinisa Mihajlovic was born in 1969 in Yugoslavia to Bogdan (Father) and Viktorija (mother). Mihajlovic grew up in a working-class family.

Also, he has a younger brother who was born in 1973. 

Mihajlovic’s Father worked as a truck driver while his mother was a worker in a shoe factory.  

His parents are from different nations; his dad was a Bosnian Serb, while his mother was Croatian. So, even though Mihajlovic is seen as a Serbian, he views Croatia as his mother nation.

Mihajlovic must have been happy to see his nation participate in the 2022 Qatar World Cup. He missed the Sunday match of Croatia against Morocco, playing for third place in this Fifa World Cup. 

The legend will be honored in Croatia against the Morocco match.
