Frederic co-founded the antique and design gallery “Downtown” in New York City in the 1970s. He later opened his gallery, “Frederic P. Rheinstein & Company,” on Madison Avenue.

Frederic Rheinstein passed away in 1990 at the age of 47, and it was reported that Frederic was battling Cancer.
