Iranian Actress Taraneh Alidoosti Arrested captivated viewers’ attention after she was reportedly arrested for criticizing the execution of 23-year-old protester Mohsen Shekari.
Taraneh Alidoosti is a renowned Irani Actress best known internationally for her role in The Salesman, which won the Best Foreign Language Film Award at the 89th Academy Awards.
Besides the Salesman, the Actress is known for starring in The Beautiful City,Fireworks Wednesday, About Elly, and Shahrzad.
The Salesman Actress has received numerous accolades, including a Crystal Simorgh, an Iran Cinema Celebration Award, and an Iran’s Film Critics and Writers Association Award.

According to Metro, Taraneh Alidoosti, who starred in The Salesman, could face being arrested after she posed without a headscarf.
Alidoosti had also expressed support for Iran’s protest movement while posing without the mandatory hijab to signal solidarity with anti-government demonstrations.
The Salesman Actress previously vowed to remain inside Iran at any price. Taraneh even paused her career to support the families of those killed in the security forces’ clampdown on demonstrators.
As per BBC, Two prominent Iranian actresses, Hengameh Ghaziani and Katayoun Riahi, have been arrested for publicly supporting mass anti-government protests, the country’s state-run media reports.
The Irna news agency claimed Hengameh Ghaziani and Katayoun Riahi are accused of conspiracy and acting against Iran’s authorities.
Before the arrest, Ms. Ghaziani wrote on social media, “whatever happens, know that, as always, I will stand with the people of Iran.”
Following the arrest, Ali Hamedani tweeted Katayoun Riahi, one of the first actresses who appeared in public without mandatory hijab after the killing of #MahsaAmini, has been reportedly arrested.
Global media outlets often refer to Terehan as the ‘Natalie Portman of Iran,’ She also caused a stir in 2016 for revealing a feminist tattoo at a press conference for The Salesman.

The 38-year-old uploaded a photo of herself without her headscarf to protest the regime she had been critical of in the past.

She was previously handed a five-month sentence for sharing a video of a ‘morality’ Police officer attacking a woman for not wearing a hijab on the street in Iran.
Taraneh’s statement follows that of Iranian footballer Sardar Azmoun, who used his social media to share his opinions.
The outspoken Actress is often referred to in global media as ‘the Natalie Portman of Iran’ and has previously been known to voice her feelings.
On January 26, 2017, Alidoosti announced she would be boycotting the 89th Academy Awards, where The Salesman had been nominated for Best Foreign Language Film, due to upcoming stringent visa travel restrictions that the Trump administration planned to impose on Iranians.
Where Is Taraneh Alidoosti Now?
Volant Media UK reported that Alidoosti was summoned to Branch Nine of the Culture and Media Prosecutor’s Office on January 21, 2020, and was charged with ‘propaganda activities against the state.’
According to Dailymail, She was released on bail after being charged and has not yet publicly responded to her sentence.
In 2020 she also broke rank and criticized the government in Tehran in a post on Instagram, telling her almost six million followers that ‘we are not citizens’ but ‘captives.’
The 39 years old Actress was born on January 12, 1984, to her parents, Hamid Alidoosti and Nadere Hakimelahi, in Tehran, Iran.
Taraneh got married and, in 2013, had a daughter named Hannah. Her only brother died young in an accident on Fireworks during the Iranian New Year festivity.
