As mentioned earlier, Terry Bisogno died due to colon cancer, a battle he was facing for quite a time and was previously admitted to hospital on the first week of July.

Known as the “Voice of Long Island,” Terry called more than 50 races a year, even while battling colon cancer.

Whether conquering demanding ultra-marathons or guiding his team to triumph in esteemed races, Terry’s unwavering enthusiasm for running was unmatched.

In July, a walk and run event took place in his hometown of Massapequa, with hundreds of runners participating in front of his house.

“People had been trying to organize something for him, but he resisted,” said Sami Saad from Landshark Endurance. “We kept it a secret to surprise him.”

Other runners also expressed their deep appreciation for the beloved announcer.

Terry was in the hospital then, so organizers arranged for him to virtually witness the event through Zoom and connect with the running community.

Moreover, a GoFundMe campaign, organized by Rich Sallustro, was launched to support Terry.
