Neville Staple, a member of the band The Specials, recalled the late singer Terry Hall and stated the news of his passing had “struck him hard.”
On Monday, it was revealed that Hall, most known for being a part of the reggae group, had passed away at 63 after a brief illness.
The band paid tribute to their late bandmate in a statement, calling him “one of the most creative vocalists, songwriters, and lyricists this country has ever produced,” as well as a “wonderful friend, brother.”
Former group vocalist Staple recently shared his tribute to Hall. He started by saying: “This has hit me.”
“We were aware of Terry’s illness, but until lately, we didn’t realize how terrible it was. We had only recently confirmed a few joint music agreements for 2023.
