She was last observed at a friend’s Party in Connecticut on January 31, 1982, when she left the event unhappy and headed for her South Salem residence after getting a call from Durst.

Durst asserted that following a heated argument, he sent her off at the Katonah train station and later called her.

Durst married Debrah Lee Charatan on December 11, 2000, just before the Berman homicide.

Robert Durst was the family’s eldest son and apparent heir to a sizable portfolio of Manhattan office buildings and other assets.

However, by the 1990s, Mr. Durst’s Father, Seymour, had grown dissatisfied with his behavior, which included working odd hours, stealing money from the Company, and peeing in his brother’s trash can.

As a result, Mr. Durst’s younger brother was chosen to take over the Company in 1994. 

The two brothers, who were only 18 months apart, had never gotten along, especially after their mother, Bernice, died in 1950, when Robert was seven years old, by either falling or jumping from the family home’s roof.

After being devastated by his Father’s decision, Mr. Durst severed his ties to the family and started bouncing between residences in New York, Texas, and California.

In 1995, he skipped his Father’s funeral.

Due to their alleged fear of Durst, his family members requested and were granted restraining orders against him in 2012 and 2013.

For standing in front of townhouses owned by his brother Douglas and other family members, Durst was charged with trespassing in New York City.

In December 2014, after his trial, he was declared not guilty. The judge also revoked the thirteen orders of protection that his family members had obtained against him.

The United States Robert Alan Durst was born in New York City. He was of American nationality and white American ancestry.

In addition, he was of the white ethnicity and practiced the Jewish religion.

The Jinx: Robert Durst Death Cause: How Did The Serial Killer Die?

Robert Durst, living at the California Health Care Facility in Stockton, passed away on Monday at 6:44 am from natural causes. He was 78 years old.

At the San Joaquin General Hospital, where Mr. Durst had been transported for testing, his attorney Chip Lewis verified his death.

He then suffered a heart attack and was rendered dead, according to Mr. Lewis.

At the California Health Care Facility, Mr. Durst was incarcerated for life for the murder of his longtime friend Susan Berman.

Robert was still in the California Department of Corrections’ care at the time of his passing.
