Tommy Schaefer is a criminal convicted of the murder of his ex-girlfriend’s mother, Sheila Von Wiese.
He murdered Shelia alongside his then-girlfriend Heather Mack while on vacation in Bali, Indonesia, in August 2014.
Because Schaefer and his lover placed Von Wiese-Mack’s body in a suitcase, the murder received extensive international media coverage.
Tommy is still there, incarcerated in Indonesia for an 18-year in prison. Meanwhile, his then-girlfriend Mack served seven years in prison.
Mack was released from prison on October 29, 2021, after serving 34 months of her sentence in remission, including a six-month Independence Day remission that President Joko Widodo granted in August 2021.
Mack claimed that Indonesia was safer than Chicago and that she wanted to stay there with her daughter.
Because of Indonesia’s jus sanguinis nationality legislation and the fact that her daughter was born in America, Indonesian immigration suggested that both would be deported right away.
Heather was detained upon entering the country on suspicion of obstruction and conspiracy.
Tommy Schaefer Parents: Mother Kia Walker And Father
Kia Walker is the mother of Tommy Schaefer. Meanwhile, the identity of Schaefer’s father has not been revealed to the public.
Since Tommy has not taken his mother’s last name (Walker), we can speculate that his paternal family was Schaefer.
Tommy was born to his parents in 1995 and is 29 years old as of 2024. He was born and raised in Forest Park, Indonesia and spent most of his childhood there.
The details of Tommy’s parents’ professional life are still a mystery. In fact, there is only a little information about the convicted murderer’s parents besides his mother’s identity.
Tommy was perceived as a vulnerable young teen who tended to go toward the more safe houses of friends and acquaintances.
Throughout middle school and high school, Schaefer was a friend of a young woman whose mother claimed he was a terrible influence.
The mother remarked, “He was always into the theatre. Several times, “I caught him lying to my face.” Schaefer’s mother, Kia Walker, now lives a complicated life in Forest Park.

Stella Schaefer, the daughter of Heather Mack and Tommy Schaefer, was born just a few weeks before her parents, Heather Mack and Tommy Schaefer, were found guilty of killing Sheila Von Wiese Mack in Bali in 2014.
The now seven-year-old, who was first nurtured in prison and is now living with a foster mother in Indonesia, has only ever communicated with her paternal grandma via a screen.
A judge granted interim custody of the little child to a third party because Schaefer was still serving his sentence in Indonesia when Schaefer was back in jail and behind bars in the United States.
Walker also filed a lawsuit to get guardianship and visitation rights.
“My viewpoint was irrelevant. Additionally, her father’s viewpoint was irrelevant. That was a challenging insight,” according to Tommy’s mother.
Kia further added, “She isn’t in my custody. And I’m powerless. No command. I am limited to what is provided to me.”
Walker’s counsel asserted that Walker was entirely within her rights to do so, even though Mack’s attorney has pledged to oppose any move to place the six-year-old with her grandma.
