The former defender, who previously played for the Los Angeles Wolves, Leicester, Coventry, and Tranmere, has been honoured.

He contributed to the Saints’ 1965 Premier League promotion before quitting the sport seven years later after a time at Poole Town.

Knapp eventually switched to management, and from 1974 to 1977, he was in charge of the Icelandic national team.
