A worrying situation has occurred to Flyer’s fans where Travis Konecny’s injury, as the team has suffered losses for five straight games. 

A forward for the Philadelphia Flyers of the National Hockey League, Travis Konecny is a Canadian professional ice hockey player (N.H.L.).

The Flyers took him with the 24th overall pick in the first round of the 2015 N.H.L. Entry Draft.

Konecny, born in London, Ontario, and reared in Clachan, practiced hockey on iced ponds while growing up and watching hockey on television. 

To attend the PEAC hockey academy & play for the Elgin-Middlesex Chiefs of the Alliance Hockey league.

He immediately relocated closer to London after beginning his minor ice hockey career with the neighborhood Chatham-Kent Cyclones.

The Ottawa 67s of the Ontario Hockey League (O.H.L.), who selected Konecny first overall in the 2013 O.H.L. draft, were impressed with his 114-point season in 2012–13.

Before being moved to the Sarnia Sting at the start of 2016 in exchange for two players and eight O.H.L. draft picks, Konecny played two and a half seasons of junior ice hockey for Ottawa. 

Konecny participated in several international competitions while playing junior hockey for Canada, including the World Juniors & the Ivan Hlinka Memorial Tournament.

Travis Konecny Injury Update: What Happened To Him? 

According to Olivia Reiner of The Philadelphia Inquirer, Konecny suffered an injury during the second period of Thursday’s game against Boston and had to leave the contest.

The third quarter didn’t feature Konecny on the bench. Konecny appeared to have injured his right hand, but the Flyers have not yet released any information on him. 

Before the encounter on Thursday, Konecny had seven goals and a team-high 19 points in 16 games. Joel Farabee might move to the top line if he cannot play in Montreal on Saturday.

Konecny’s right hand appeared to clip David Pastrnak’s back in a clumsy play around the boards.

After the play, Konecny was shown on the N.B.C. Sports Philadelphia broadcast taking off his glove and inspecting his right hand.

Eventually, he got up from the bench and headed up the tunnel for more analysis.

With seven goals and 30 points, Konecny is the Flyers’ leader (19). He had a seven-game point run in Boston (three goals, seven assists).

It would be a significant setback for the Flyers if the 25-year-old winger were to be sidelined for an extended time.

In their five-game losing streak, they have only scored 1.80 goals per game, and their season average is only 2.47.

Travis Konecny Biography Explored 

On March 11, 1997, Konecny was born in London, Ontario.

He grew up in the nearby Clachan neighborhood with his brother Chase, an engineering student, mother Terri-Lee, a worker with autistic children, and father Rob, a firefighter. 

Bo Horvat, another Konecny’s immediate family members, began playing ice hockey early.  

Konecny trained on frozen ponds and observed hockey matches because Clachan lacked an ice rink due to its small size.

Lawson Crouse, whom he first met when they both tried out for the same hockey team at six, later became his boyhood friend. 

Coaches began to take note when Konecny scored four goals and added an assist during one period of a youth ice hockey competition at the age of 10.

When Konecny was 14, he moved to Mount Brydges and joined the Elgin-Middlesex Chiefs of the Alliance Hockey league.

He also started attending the PEAC hockey academy in London. Konecny initially started playing minor ice hockey with the neighborhood Chatham-Kent Cyclones. 

Konecny, who was smaller than most of his teammates, was well-known for his aggressive style of play and had accrued 24 penalty minutes during the first nine games of the 2012–13 Campaign.

Meanwhile, Elgin-Middlesex won the Alliance title by defeating the Waterloo Wolves. Konecny has been assessed a 10-minute misconduct penalty for fighting in the championship game.

In the first round of the 2015 entry draft, the Philadelphia Flyers selected him with the 24th overall pick. He has signed a total of two contracts totaling $36,412,500.
