Besides that, Trevor is also a former light aircraft pilot. As a snowboard cross competitor, he represented the United States in snowboarding in the 2014 Winter Olympics.
Furthermore, he shot to fame after uploading a video in December 2021. In the respective video, he parachuted out of a light aircraft claiming engine failure.
The clip went viral on the internet sources and it is again in the limelight as he has received a prison sentence.

Trevor Daniel Jacob plane crash video has gone viral on various social media platforms including Twitter. The video went viral after he posted it on his YouTube channel in December 2021.
The video went viral and as of now, his video on YouTube has gained over 4.4 million views. In the viral tape that is 12 minutes 48 seconds long, he parachuted out of a light aircraft claiming engine failure.
He owned a Taylorcraft BL-65. Mid-flight, the engine suddenly failed, prompting Jacob to parachute down, sustaining minor injuries upon landing.
The empty plane crashed in an uninhabited area of Los Padres National Forest near New Cuyama, California, sustaining significant damage.
Jacob went to the crash spot, and then hiked away, mentioning that the engine had stopped working.

After Trevor Daniel Jacob video went viral on social media, he was criticized by everyone. Two days later, Jacob told the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) about the crash.
The NTSB began investigating and asked Jacob to keep the wreckage intact for inspection. They also requested all his video footage of the incident.
Jacob also agreed but he claimed he did not know the location of the wreckage. Jacob informed the NTSB and FAA that he couldn’t recall the exact crash location, even though he had walked to and from the site to retrieve his cameras.
Some people doubted the incident, mentioning Jacob wore a parachute, didn’t try to land the plane safely, and carried a camera and selfie stick when leaving the aircraft.
Trevor Daniel Jacob Lawsuit Update
Trevor Daniel Jacob crashed his plane to get views and everyone on the internet is asking questions about his lawsuit.
According to an online report, he pleaded guilty to a felony charge of destruction and concealment to obstruct a federal investigation on May 11, 2023.
Jacob admitted that he intentionally crashed the plane to gain notoriety and to earn money and said the motive for his plot was to earn commissions from The Ridge.
Furthermore, Trevor entered a plea agreement with federal prosecutors. On December 4, 2023, Judge John F. Walter gave him a six-month prison sentence.
After getting out of prison, Jacob can’t seek a pilot’s license while on probation or parole. Trevor also shared a video on his YouTube handle.
