However, some online sources have reported that the Russian mixed martial artist is Muslim, i.e., a follower of Islam.

The 39-year-old fighter is active on Instagram. He occasionally shares content related to his training and professional life. However, he has not shared anything related to his religious beliefs.

One should note that one’s religious belief is a personal matter. Many celebrities and famous people refrain from discussing it publicly as there is a possibility of facing backlash and criticism.

Regardless of his religion, Muslim Salikhov is a talented mixed martial artist and sanda fighter who is often referred to as the “King of Sanda.”

Since making his UFC debut in November 2017 at UFC Fight Night 122, Salikhov has appeared in 22 bouts, winning 19. The skilled fighter won 13 via knockout, two by submission and four by decision.

Muslim Salikhov was born on 09 June 1984 in Makhachkala, Dagestan ASSR, Soviet Union, to his parents, whose name and identity have yet to be made public.

When asked when and why he started training for professional fighting, the MMA fighter said he began training as a kid because he didn’t want to get his ass kicked out in the streets of Oagestan.

As for his ethnicity, the UFC fighter is of Kumyk ethnicity. According to Wikipedia, The Kumyks are a Turkic people that live in Dagestan, Chechnya, and North Ossetia. They are the largest group of Turkic people in the North Caucasus.

Also, Kumyks have traditionally inhabited the Kumyk plateau (northern Dagestan and north-eastern Chechnya), the Caspian Sea, North Ossetia, Chechnya, and the Terek River.

Further details about the athlete’s family members are not available. Although the UFC official has been active in the professional fighting world for over two decades, there are still a lot of things to explore about his personal life.
