Who Are Valentina Shevchenko Parents, Elena And Anatoly?

Born on 7 March 1988, Valentina Shevchenko was welcomed to the world by her parents, Elena and Anatoly Shevchenko. She has an elder sister, Antonina Shevchenko.

Her mother, Elena, is the current president of the national Muay Thai association in Kyrgyzstan. Mrs. Shevchenko fought in the Muay Thai World Championships at 50 and had previously won many titles in the country.

The UFC professional once said that she is so proud of her mother, and she motivates her. Elena was the one who encouraged her two daughters to pursue their careers in mixed martial art.

On the other hand, during the cold war, Valentina’s Father, Anatoly, reportedly worked in the Soviet Navy’s Pacific Fleet for a few years. Later, Anatoly pursued his football career and played for Kyrgyzstan’s national team.

The UFC professional grew up in a Russian-Ukrainian family in Frunze, Kirghizia, USSR. But she stated that her nationality is Russian. Her mother tongue language is Russian. The 35-year-old martial artist is fluent in several languages, including Russian, English, and Spanish.

Shevchenko spent much time in Latin America while instructing martial arts in Peru, Colombia, Paraguay, Uruguay, and Argentina. That’s how she learned Spanish. The Shevchenko family was a citizen of the Soviet Union, and later, they obtained Kyrgyzstan Citizenship, as her mother is president of the Muay Thai association of Kyrgyzstan.

Moreover, since coming to Peru in 2008 to study mixed martial arts with Pavel Fedotov and teach martial arts, Shevchenko has been a citizen of that country.

Valentina Shevchenko’s birth country is delighted to have her representing them despite her gaining Peruvian citizenship. The Dank Order was given to the UFC champion in 2019 by the president of Kyrgyzstan, Sooronbay Jeenbekov.

Valentina Shevchenko’s ethnicity appears to be mixed, as she is a Krygyzstani-Peruvian-Russian. Regarding her religion, it is unknown what religion she follows. But many sites claim that she is Muslim.

Like her younger sister, Antonina also competes in the UFC flyweight division. Born on 20 November 1984, Antonina is three years and three-month older than Valentina.

The Shevchenko sister shares a close-knitted bond. They have traveled and taught martial arts in several countries.

The Flyweight champion’s older sister has won the WKC K1, Muay Thai titles and the Phoenix FC and Lion Fight titles and has successfully defended those titles twice. Antonina Shevchenko is married to coach Pavel Fedotov.
