The FAU star basketball player Vladislav Goldin was born on 12 May 2001 to his parents, Lubov And Alexander Goldin. He has two siblings – Marina and Alexandra.
The 7-foot-1 sophomore center was born in Nalchick, Russia, in the foothills of the Caucasus Mountains near the Georgian border.
His basketball career began with Russia’s capital city’s CSKA Moscow Junior Team, and he represented Russia at the U-18 Euro Championship and U-19 World Cup.
He moved to the United States during high school and played for Putnam Science Academy in Connecticut. He played high school basketball with UConn guard Hassan Diarra. The two could potentially meet in the national championship.
Vladislav was rated as a three-star prospect by 247Sports and the second-best player in Connecticut for the 2020 recruiting class coming out of high school.
Goldin initially committed to play college basketball at Texas Tech. As a freshman, he came off the bench 10 times for the Red Raiders, averaging 1.9 points and 1.0 rebounds per game.
After one season in Lubbock, he entered the transfer portal and ultimately chose to play for FAU under head coach Dusty May. In his first year with the Owls, the Russia-born basketballer averaged 4.9 rebounds and 6.8 points per game while leading the team to a 19-15 record.
Goldin is averaging 6.4 rebounds and 10.2 points this season. He had 14 points and 13 rebounds against Kansas State in the Owls’ Elite Eight victory on Saturday.

The sophomore center has been a force on the boards for FAU all season, leading the team with 238 rebounds heading into their Elite 8 matchup against Kansas State.
The Russian player is an anchor in coach Dusty May’s high-powered offense and defense: This season, he has 45 blocks.
Goldin ranks third on the team in scoring with 10.2 points per game, trailing only guards Johnell Davis and Alijah Martin. His 63% shooting percentage is the highest among the leading FAU players.
“With the addition of Vlad, we couldn’t be more excited to round out our incoming class,” coach Dusty May said in 2021.
“He is aggressive, skilled, big and complements our style of play.” Vlad has extensive international experience and will give our team a physical presence, added the head coach.
