Wadea Al-Fayoume was a six-year-old Palestinian-American boy who was stabbed 26 times in his home in Plainfield, Illinois. Authorities have stated that the boy was stabbed because of being a Muslim.
Furthermore, the boy was stabbed horrifically by 71-year-old Joseph Czuba. It has been reported that Czuba is Al-Fayoume’s landlord, who was arrested and charged with murder, attempted murder, and committing hate crimes.
Not to mention, Al-Fayoume’s mother, Hanaan Shahin, was also stabbed, but she survived. However, she was stabbed and choked and was critically injured.

Hanaan Shahin is the mother of Wadea Al-Fayoume. The mother-son duo was stabbed in a horrific way by landlord Joseph Czuba in Plainfield, Illinois.
Hanaan was attacked by her landlord, who had a military-style knife. Following that, she ran to the bathroom to call the police. When she came out, she found Al-Fayoume with multiple stab wounds.
Al-Fayoume and Hanaan were transported to the hospital, where Al-Fayoume was pronounced dead, and Hanaan was treated in critical condition.
Furthermore, the funeral services for the young boy were organized, but Hanaan was not able to attend as she was recovering from the injuries.
