Emma Thompson is an English actress and writer, known for roles in "Howards End" and "Love Actually", won 2 Academy Awards, screenwriter of "Sense and Sensibility".

In an interview with The New Yorker, Emma Thompson discussed her terrible divorce from her first husband, actor and director Kenneth Branagh.

Thompson said that she had no knowledge of Branagh's relationships with other women while they were filming.

When she found that Branagh had an affair with Helena Bonham Carter while working on the movie "Mary Shelley's Frankenstein," Thompson and Branagh's contentious breakup made news in 1995.

The divorce, according to Thompson, was extremely painful for her and left her feeling that she was only "half alive" and unlovable or deserving of love.

Following the split, Thompson started dating actor Greg Wise; the two go on to have two kids together.
