Tyler Sanders, a young actor, passed away from a fentanyl overdose.

Tyler Sanders was an Actor known for his roles in "The Rookie" and "Fear the Walking Dead."

Sanders died in June at the age of 18 in his Glendale apartment. His death was ruled an accidental fentanyl overdose.

Sanders had a history of drug use, and drug paraphernalia was found at the apartment.

Fentanyl use has increased in Los Angeles County and across California.

In L.A. County, 13 times as many people died from fentanyl in 2021 as in 2016.

The drug involved more than half of all overdose deaths, particularly among teenagers.

Sanders appeared in the action thriller film "The Price We Pay" and will appear posthumously when the film premieres in January.
