Qamar Javed Bajwa, born on November 11, 1960, in Karachi, Sindh, attended Gordon College and F. G. Sir Syed College in Rawalpindi before enrolling in the Pakistan Military Academy in 1978.
His ancestors are from Punjab’s Ghakhar Mandi. Muhammad Iqbal Bajwa, his Father, was a Pakistani Army officer who passed away in 1967 in Quetta, Baluchistan.
Bajwa, the youngest of five children, was just seven years old when his Father passed away.
The mother who reared him and his brothers passed away in September 2013. Ijaz Amjad, a retired major general, is Bajwa’s father-in-law.
