Damian Lillard is not going anywhere. He would prefer to stay with Trail Blazers.
While rumors claim that Miami Heat is targeting the Oakland native to sign, the point guard once again revealed his wish to stay with the Portland Trail Blazers.
Shams Charania, an NBA insider, indicated Portland as the team holding the cards for the star basketballer’s upcoming departure during a Monday appearance on “The Pat McAfee Show.”
Charania said Lillard would be back in Rose City for the upcoming season if the team can improve between now and the NBA draft on Thursday (22 June).
The NBA insider revealed that it is all up to Portland. But Damian really wants to be there, added Charania.
Moreover, in an appearance on the podcast The Last Stand, Lillard said, “I think I have made it clear what my wishes are. The skilled athlete said he wanted to have the chance to win in Portland.
“That is the most important thing. But, if we can’t do that, then, as I’ve been saying for months, we’ll have to have a separate conversation,” added the basketball player.

Despite being one of the best shooters ever, he has yet to appear in the Finals. Many supporters, including those in Portland, expressed the wish for him to depart and take part in a contender.
Furthermore, as the team hasn’t made the playoffs in the last two seasons, they could attempt to rebuild and use Damian to their advantage in the trade market.
