Long-time KXAS political reporter Julie Fine is ending her ten years journey with NBC-owned Dallas station.

The political journalist’s departure news first came in late April 2023. While congratulating the host on her next job, Napoli Management Group broke the news on Instagram.

The Lone Star Politics co-host joined KXAS in June 2013. As NBC 5’s political reporter, Fine has presented a wide range of news. In 2014, the journalist covered the 84th and 85th Texas Legislative sessions and the Gubernatorial race.

Likewise, in 2016, she went to the field to report on the presidential election. Fine reportedly followed U.S. Senator Ted Cruz from Iowa to Indiana through his presidential run.

Cruz suspended his campaign after reaching Indiana. Later, the political reporter interviewed the senator, which was the first one-on-one interview with Cruz.

Julie Fine New Job And Salary

After ending her ten years of journey as a political reporter at NBC-owned Dallas station, Julie Fine was hired by Bloomberg as their Texas Bureau Chief.

Many of the journalist’s fans and audiences congratulated her on her new job. Fine took to Twitter and expressed her gratitude.

“Thank you all for your kind words today and for watching @gromerjeffers and me each week,” Julie wrote.

The gorgeous television personality admired her co-host as “the greatest partner and an even finer person.”

The departing NBC 5 political reporter ended her note promising to meet again when she joined Bloomberg as Texas Bureau Chief based in Dallas.

The Emmy-winning journalist’s new role includes delivering high-profile interviews, helping her teams, and elevating the profile of the Texas bureaus. She will reportedly contribute to the politics show “Balance of Power.”

In addition, the talented journalist will be able to work closely with Joe Carroll in Houston, Brendan Walsh in Austin, and Ed Dufner in Dallas to offer information across all channels and organize coverage across the region.

Regarding her new salary, there has been no report. But Zip Recruiter reported that an individual working as a Texas Bureau Chief earned $76,557 as their average annual income.

However, considering Julie’s stand and expertise in the field, she must earn more than the average pay. 

Julie Fine Is A Graduate Of Tulane University

The prominent journalist Julie Fine is a graduate of Tulane University in North Texas.

As being a native of that place, she has a few close friends. Following graduation, she told her friends she would join them in North Texas after establishing her career. Fine was delighted when she landed a job there.

Julie began her professional career in Washington, D.C. She worked as a production assistant and field producer. Soon after, she decided to become a reporter and joined WJET-TV in 1999.

From there, the skilled reporter went to Buffalo, New York and worked with WKBW-TV for eight years until 2010. After working with WPXI-TV for around three years, Fine landed her job at KXAS, NBC 5 Dallas/Fort Worth, in June 2013.
