While talking with Express, Lorraine Kelly opened up about her new project away from her ITV show.
She revealed her passion and wished to do more roles outside her daytime job as an ITV host or presenter.
The publication reported that the presenter took time out of her busy schedule to film a new documentary.
The 62-year-old has teamed up with comedian Harry Hill, Liza Tarbuck, and wildlife expert Chris Packham to present a documentary on World War II for Sky History.
Usually, the Scottish host’s absence is during the summer holidays when she takes a short break to visit her family and friend.
When asked what the reason for her unexpected break from the role she has fronted since 2010 was, she disclosed that it was a chance to explore something different and dig deep into the fascinating subject.
Lorraine traveled across the UK and southern England to film the history documentary with her team.
While on the trip, she reportedly visited the Transport Museum and the Imperial War Museum in London.
The host also admitted that she has no plan to leave her ITV chat show permanently. However, she expressed her will to do more documentaries.
She said, “I love my day job. But it is good to have something more time to dive deeper into a subject.”
The Journalist revealed that she would love to explore more subjects like Ancient Rome, especially from Caesar to Nero, the heroic age of Antarctic exploration (Shackleton), and she would love to do a travel show on Greenland and Mongolia.
Lorraine Kelly Had To Leave Her Show Due To A Health Issue
In July 2022, the TV host had to pull out of her chat show after testing positive for Covid-19. She took a week-long break, isolated herself, and returned to her usual schedule after she tested negative.
After a week-long isolation, the presenter took to Instagram and explained how she missed her colleagues.
She also admitted that her experience with the virus was a nasty one. She also included a picture of her negative lateral flow test next to the post.
In the post, she wrote, “Negative, finally! – a nasty one, but feeling fine now.” She added, “see you on Monday at 9 am.”
The star presenter didn’t miss to thank Carol Vorderman, who volunteered to present the show in her absence.
