While still a teenager, Kitshoff made his breakthrough in the 2011 season, making five substitute appearances for the Stormers and 5 Currie Cup outings for Western Province.

In 2012, the loosehead started to play more frequently, securing the number 1 jersey for both the Stormers and Western Province. The South African athlete also helped Province win the Currie Cup in a stunning victory over the Sharks in Durban.

The skilled rugby player had a strong Super Rugby season in 2013, and he carried that momentum over to the Currie Cup later that year, where he was a constant as Province advanced to their second straight Currie Cup final, losing to the Sharks at home.

However, towards the end of the Super Rugby season, he suffered an injury, which made 2014 a frustrating year for Kitshoff.

As a result, the star rugby player could not participate in Western Province’s successful Currie Cup Campaign, where they won the trophy with a close victory over the Golden Lions at Newlands.

In 2017, he joined the DHL Stormers. He had a glorious career with the team.117

“Among the things I will miss the most is the atmosphere that the faithful create every weekend, the number of people who come out to support the team on a Friday or Saturday afternoon,” the rugby player went on.

Kitshoff said his decision to play for the DHL Stormers had been the best decision he could have ever made as a young rugby player. “Playing in the North-South derby in a playoff is extremely personal,” added Steven.
