Guinness has proof that Bobi, who will age 31 in May, is the oldest dog ever.

According to Guinness, Bobi is a purebred Rafeiro do Alentejo, a breed of livestock guardian dog with a lifespan of 12–14 years.

The dog’s owner informed Guinness that Bobi was fortunate to be alive. Bobi’s litter of puppies wasn’t something Leonel Costa’s father wanted to keep because he was a hunter with numerous dogs.

Who Is Bobi Dog Owner?

Costa claimed his father had missed one, so he and his brothers had hidden the dog. Guinness claimed that although his parents reprimanded him for hiding Bobi, they eventually allowed them to keep it.

According to Costa, Bobi’s diet of only human food and his tranquil surroundings contributed to his long life.

Since the average dog’s lifespan isn’t very long, “Bobi has been a warrior for all these years; only he knows how he’s been holding on.

It must not be easy, and if he talked, only he could explain this success,” Costa said in a news release. We are really thrilled and appreciative that Bobi is still a part of our daily lives after 30 years.

Bobi is a kind, calm canine who likes to play with his four feline siblings. His day consists of walking, eating, and unwinding by the fireplace.

As of December 7, 2022, in Camden, Ohio, Spike held the record for the oldest canine still alive, having lived for 23 years and 7 days.

Bluey, an Australian cattle dog who lived for 29 years and 5 months until passing away in November 1939, held the previous record for the oldest dog ever.
