Canadian-born defenseman Bowen Byram competes for the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League (NHL). In the 2019 NHL Entry Draft, the Avalanche picked him as the fourth overall pick.

Son of NHL player Shawn Byram, Byram played full-time with the Lethbridge Golden Hawks of the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League at the age of 12 after being coached by his Father up until that point.

Byram was chosen third overall in the 2016 WHL Bantam Draft by the Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League (WHL), where he spent two seasons.

Who is Bowen Byram sister Jamie Byram? Bowen Byram Sister name is Jamie Byram. Stacey and Shawn Byram welcomed Byram into the world on June 13, 2001, in Cranbrook, British Columbia, Canada.

His Father was a professional ice hockey player who spent 11 seasons in minor and European leagues after his brief stint in the National Hockey League (NHL).

Steve Byram coached his son’s hockey team until Byram turned 12 and joined the Lethbridge Golden Hawks of the Alberta Major Bantam Hockey League (AMBHL).

When Byram was 10, Lethbridge coach Michael Dyck first noticed him at a youth ice hockey match.

Byram played with Lethbridge for two seasons, and in the 2015–16 AMBHL season, he led all defensemen in scoring with 22 goals and 37 points in 34 games.

The Golden Hawks took first place at the Western Canadian Bantam AAA Championship and won the AMBHL championships.

Career Details Of Bowen Byram

Byram made his international debut for Canada in the 2017 World U-17 Hockey Challenge.

He contributed to the Canada Red team’s eventual second-place finish behind the unbeaten United States squad with one goal and four assists in six games.

Byram was among five players selected to the All-Star squad that year following the competition. Three players born in 2001 joined Canada for the 2018 IIHF World U18 Championships in Russia the year after, and he was one of them.

With one goal and three assists in five games at the 2018 Hlinka Gretzky Cup, Byram won his first gold medal after only contributing one assist to Canada’s fifth-place finish.

Byram has been selected for the Canadian junior team for the 2020 World Junior Ice Hockey Championships based on his performance in recent under-18 competitions. He won another gold medal and contributed two assists throughout seven games.

He was initially designated as an alternate captain for the 2021 World Junior Championship, but Byram and Dylan Cozens were elevated to the position due to Kirby Dach’s wrist injury.

Byram contributed to Canada’s second-place finish with one goal and five points in seven games and was selected for the Media All-Star team.
