A Texas A&M University student was discovered dead in Austin more than a week after going missing. Tanner Hoang, 22, was last seen near the school’s main campus.

Tanner Hoang, 22, was last seen on Friday at or around 11 am on Colgate Drive, between Highway 6 and Wolf Pen Creek Park, according to College Station Police.

Hoang’s family, from Flower Mound, Texas, also said they were in town for his graduation ceremony, but he vanished shortly before meeting for lunch.

According to authorities, Tanner Hoang, 22, of Flower Mound, was discovered dead near the Pennybacker Bridge on Loop 360.

The cause of ***** has not been disclosed, although authorities do not believe foul play was involved.

The Texas student’s family was in town for his graduation at the time of his disappearance and became concerned when he failed to show up for a meal before the ceremony.

Tanner’s Father stated he sent him a text at about 8:30 am and received an indication that Tanner had seen it before turning off his son’s phone.

Emily tracked his debit card usage and found that he had put gas in his car at a gas station in Caldwell, Texas, around 12:08 pm, but it was unknown where he drove after that.

Although the reason for the ***** has not been made public, the Police do not suspect foul play.

When the Texas student failed to show up for a meal before the ceremony, his family, who were in town for his graduation, started to worry.

Before shutting off his son’s phone, Tanner’s Father claimed that he sent him a text at around 8:30 am and saw a sign that Tanner had seen it.

As previously stated, Hoang’s cause of ***** is uncertain.

According to Amber Alert Network Brazos Valley, Hoang’s car was also discovered nearby. His wallet was found undamaged inside the vehicle.

Official search updates on leads and information regarding Hoang’s whereabouts and likely destination were provided on the Finding Tanner Hoang Facebook page. Over 13,300 people have joined the group as of Saturday afternoon.

According to the non-profit Amber Alert Network Brazos Valley (AANBV), Hoang was discovered dead near the Pennybacker Bridge on Loop 360 in Austin, not far from where the car was found.

Hoang, 22, went missing on Friday, December 16. His family was on their way to College Station for his graduation that weekend, and they were due to meet Hoang for lunch that afternoon.

Hoang’s automobile was seen leaving a Shell gas station in Caldwell at about 12:05 pm on the day of his disappearance, heading westbound on Texas 21 toward Old Dime Box, Bastrop, and Austin.

More camera footage later that day showed Hoang’s automobile making its way to 1395 U.S. Highway 290 west of Elgin.

The College Station Police Department did not provide any other details concerning Hoang’s *****.

On Saturday, volunteers and search parties were urged to return home before social media reports announced Hoang’s *****.
