Kate was a vicar in the dioceses of Southwell & Nottingham before being ordained as a Church of England priest in 2008.

She is most known for her appearances on the BBC Radio 2 religious program Pause for Thought and the Channel 4 television program Gogglebox, where she and her husband, Graham, were frequent participants.

She frequently contributes as a religious commentator to many UK news and current affairs shows. Kate has written several books on religion and spirituality in addition to her job as a priest and television figure.

She revealed this sad news via Twitter and Instagram to her fans with a heartfelt dedication & two touching photos alongside her mum.

Bottley said, “her mother was a smasher.” May the faithful departed’s spirits find peace and ascend to glory.

She added we’ll take all the prayers, group intentions, and generally uplifting thoughts we can receive; thanks.

Not to mention, Kate previously disclosed that her mother had spent several weeks in the hospital after learning some unfavorable health information.

Kate first informed her followers that her mother wasn’t feeling well on Twitter. She wrote: “Yesterday I did a funeral for a lady, aged 98, she died in her sleep, in her bed, she wasn’t ill, just old, a golden ***** if you want.”

Kate Bottley was born to caring parents in Sheffield, England.

She received her education at Sheffield’s Walkley Primary School, Myers Grove School, where she served as head girl, and Tapton School.

Her interest in the Church of England was sparked by a young love affair she had with the son of the local vicar.

She studied at St. John’s College in Nottingham while working as a vicar’s assistant at St. Mark’s Church in Grenoside as part of her ordination preparation.

Moving on, Kate first met her husband Graham when they were both 13 years old at school, but they didn’t start dating until they were 18.

After dating for some years, the pair married in May 1998 in Sheffield. Together the couple has two kids. 

Since achieving fame, she has tested her culinary prowess on Celebrity MasterChef.

She has also acted as the host of Songs of Praise on the BBC.
