After entering a no-contest plea to soliciting a sexual act from an undercover cop, R&B musician Tevin Campbell was required to attend Narcotics Anonymous meetings and an AIDS awareness program, according to the Associated Press.

In addition, Campbell, 22, received a $1,080 fine on Monday for the misdemeanor conviction resulting from his arrest on July 8.

He was told to appear in court on February 7 with documentation indicating he had finished the sentence’s requirements for drug rehabilitation and AIDS education.

In a Los Angeles Police sting operation, the singer was taken into custody in front of Van Nuys Elementary School.

When Campbell sang “Tomorrow (A Better You, Better Me)” from Quincy Jones’ 1989 album “Back On The Block,” he made his recording debut at the age of twelve.

Soon after, Campbell accepted an invitation from the musician then known as Prince to contribute “Round And Round” to the 1990 “Graffiti Bridge” soundtrack.

Campbell released his self-titled debut album in 1991.

On March 8, 2022, Campbell answered a Twitter user who was asking what their mother thought about the sexuality of several famous singers by writing, “Tevin is,” along with a rainbow flag and a chill emoji.

This sparked rumors regarding Campbell’s sexual orientation. Later, the singer removed the tweet. Campbell came out as gay in an interview with the People Everyday podcast on August 17, 2022.
