Yasser bin Gharsan bin Saeed Al-Mohammadi Al-Shahrani famed by his game name Yasser Alshahrani is an established footballer from Saudi Arabia who plays as a left-back or a center-back defender on the Saudi Arabia national team and for Al-Hilal FC.
After impressive performances at the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup against Guatemala, the center player moved from Al-Qadisiyah to Al-Hilal a year later.

According to Indainexpress, the Saudi Arabia defender suffered a fractured jaw, broken facial bones, and internal bleeding after his collision with goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais during their historic 2-1 win over Argentina on November 22, 2022.
Following the incident, Yasser was eventually stretchered off and gave the thumbs up to the crowd as he left, but the hospital revealed the extent of his injuries once he reached there.
The mishap occurred in the minute of the stoppage; the defender copped a knee to the face, resulting in a horrific clash with goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais.
Following the incident, the defender was lying unresponsive on the ground; referee Slavko Vinci made the bizarre call to allow play to continue.
Fans were traumatized by the suffering seen during the FIFA World Cup Qatar after seeing Al-Shahrani appear unconscious as he lay prone on the ground. Several viewers claimed the referee failed to halt the game immediately.

Yasser Alshahran Surgery
In a statement on its Twitter account, the Saudi national team informed Saudi Arabia defender Yasser Al-Shahrani, who suffered a horrific injury and was flown off to Riyadh for emergency surgery.
Immediate Surgery for Yasser was recommended after he suffered internal bleeding due to a fractured jaw, facial bones, and teeth.
Reports claim the Arabian suffered a broken jaw and internal bleeding after the collision and left the field on a stretcher.
Following the historic 2-1 win over Argentina, the Arab team’s 2-1 come-from-behind victory, King Salman announced a public holiday for all workers and students in the kingdom to celebrate the win.
Yasser Alshahrani Injury Update
Mohammed Bin Salman, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, instructed that Yasser be transferred by a private jet to Germany for treatment.
The Saudi Federation revealed Yasser Al-Shahrani underwent successful Surgery on the pancreatic gland at the National Guard Hospital in Riyadh.
As per the Saudi gazette, the Saudi national team posted a video of the player after the severe injury. In the video, the defender appeared from Hamad Medical City and reassured the audience of his health, congratulating the Saudi team for winning the match.
In May 2018, Yasser was named in Saudi Arabia’s 23-man final squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.
