Zooey Zephyr ***** News has gone viral, but no source has confirmed it yet. A congresswoman from Montana tweeted on Tuesday that she had received a threat against her Missoula House.
Republican lawmakers recently censured Rep. Zooey Zephyr, a transgender lawmaker from Montana, and she tweeted on Tuesday that her boyfriend had received “swatting” threats.
Zephyr tweeted on Tuesday night, “Someone just tried to swat me as well. I am good.
“Someone reported an anonymous tip targeting my home in Missoula, and the Police called me and determined it was probably a hoax,” she wrote.
“I’ll repeat myself. We won’t be discouraged. The battle for transgender rights continues.
After warning Republicans they would have blood on their hands if they opposed gender-affirming health care for children, Zephyr was censured.
She then sued Speaker of the House Matt Regier to stop preventing her from entering the House floor.
She was asking for a temporary restraining order. Just before the Legislature’s session ended on Tuesday, a judge denied the plea for a charge.
Zephyr claimed this week that she and her supporters had been singled out “because I dared to speak out for the values and needs of transgender people like myself.”
What Happened To Montana State Representative?
Zooey Zephyr, a state representative from Montana, and her girlfriend successfully stopped false “swatting” attempts when the transgender lawmaker opposed state legislation forbidding providing gender-affirming care for trans children.
The Journalist Erin Reed, who works with Ms. Zephyr, claimed on May 2 that “someone just tried to SWAT me for my reporting on transgender legislation and events.”
The threats come in the wake of previous “swatting” instances, in which law enforcement sends heavily armed cops to the victim’s home in response to prank calls to emergency services and other online abuse directed at prominent trans individuals and their supporters.
Rep. Zephyr’s demonstrations against legislation forbidding gender-affirming healthcare for trans adolescents resulted in her being expelled from the state’s House of Representatives for the remainder of the legislative term.
On May 2, a judge denied her request to reclaim her seat.
According to Rep Zephyr and the American Civil Liberties Union of Montana, her removal violated both her constitutional rights and the rights of her constituents.
The meeting ended that evening. Rep. Zephyr swiftly made her way back to her seat in the House.
