Is Scott Anderson In Jail? 44-Year-Old Man Arrested For Series Bombing

Scott Anderson has been arrested for the Fresno serial bombing. The 44-year-old was responsible for several bombings in the Fresno area.

Fresno Police have arrested the man suspected of the serial bombing in the Fresno area starting in December 2022.

Police initially planned to arrest Anderson on February 23, but he headed to Southern California as the weather worsened. 

They informed local authorities to keep tabs on Anderson, who he headed to a casino in Temecula.

On February 24, the suspect was pulled over and taken into custody by Riverside County sheriff’s deputies for a traffic violation.

Anderson was with Frank Rocha, who is also charged with possessing bomb-making materials.

Officials searched the vehicle looking for possible explosives inside.

Scott Anderson Jail- Fresno Serial Bomber Arrested

Fresno Police Department has taken Scott Anderson to jail for the Fresno serial bombing starting last December.

The 44-year-old man from Fresno with links to a white supremacist group was arrested for the seven bombings in Fresno County. 

Anderson allegedly made and used pipe bombs to detonate six vehicles since December 13, 2022.

He deployed six explosives inside and under vehicles in six locations around Fresno and the seventh in a mailbox. 

Fresco Police Chief said that the bombings got more sophisticated and bold with time.

One of the six vehicles was a country probation department vehicle. Luckily, no one was harmed by the explosions.

The probation vehicle was destroyed on February 21 after Scott allegedly ignited a pipe bomb just past 3 am in the Fresno County Probation Department’s parking lot.

Fresno Police Chief Paco Balderrama said in a press conference that the skill level and the frequency of the bombs progressed with time. 

He added that four people linked to Anderson had been arrested for various charges.

Frank Rocha, 56, was charged with possessing bomb-making materials, and Steven Burkett, 51, was charged with a felony of possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Likewise, Paul New, 55, was charged with possessing an explosive device and felony of possessing a firearm and ammunition, and Amanda Sanders, 41, was charged with possessing methamphetamine for sale.

Police are investigating whether they had any connection or involvement with the Fresno series bombing.

Scott Anderson Charges After Arrest

Fresno County District Attorney Lisa Smittcamp said that Scott Anderson is facing several federal charges, including using pipe bombs on vehicles and possessing illegal firearms.

The 44-year-old is charged with seven counts of detonating an explosive device damaging property.

Moreover, Anderson is charged with three counts of exploding a harmful device, one count of attempting to explode a harmful device, and possessing material to make a destructive device.

Authorities seized 11 illegal firearms and hundreds of ammunition after serving search warrants in three locations. 

They also found $50,000 in cash and almost 90 grams of packaged methamphetamine ready for sale.

Police also discovered flags, clothing, cups, signs, banners, and patches featuring Nazi paraphernalia during the investigation of the 44-year-old.

The motives behind the bombings have not been identified, nor is it clear whether Anderson’s connection to a white supremacist group was a factor in the attacks.

Whether the motivation was a hate crime or racial prejudice is yet to be determined.

The involvement of the other four people arrested also remains to be determined.
