The vocalist’s debut studio album, “Kingdom,” was published on April 26 by the record label “Low Wood,” and it reached number 24 on the “French Albums Chart.”

Bilal Hassani was scheduled to perform in the northern city of Metz on Wednesday night. However, the songwriter had to cancel her show.

According to the event’s organizers, the last-minute concert cancellation was caused by Catholic activists who referred to it as “profanity.”

Bilal Hassani parents gave birth to the singer on September 9 1999 in her hometown Orsay, France.

The vocalist got raised by a Casablanca-based Moroccan family. Bilal’s father resides in Singapore, but her mother, Amina Fruhauf is a French citizen. Hassani has a 1995-born elder brother named Taha with whom she spend her childhood.

When Hassani was three years old, Bilal Hassani parents split, and she has lived with his mother and her brother for most of the singer’s life.

On December 20, 2018, a sample of her entry song, “Roi,” which was co-written with the pair and 2018 Destination Eurovision winner Madame Monsieur, was made public.

Hassani competed against artists from 40 other European nations in the 2019 “Eurovision Song Contest,” which was held at “Expo Tel Aviv” in Israel. She came in 16th place.
