Daveed Diggs’ parents are Dountes Diggs and Barbara Needell. The American actor was born on January 24, 1982, in Oakland, California, and raised there.

Diggs attended Berkeley High School before studying theater at Brown University. After graduation, Diggs moved to New York City and began his career in theater.

Daveed gained widespread recognition for his dual roles as Thomas Jefferson and the Marquis de Lafayette in the original cast of the Broadway musical “Hamilton.”

For his role in Hamilton, Diggs won a Tony Award. He earned it for Best Featured Actor in a Musical in 2016.
