The entire KERRY GAA community is in mourning after the mom of inter-country players named Paudie and David Clifford, Ellen Clifford passed away.
Ellen was well recognized in the Kerry GAA community and beyond and the Fossa club’s member in Co. Kerry. She was a warm personality who wholeheartedly supported her son through peaks and valleys.
Last July, Mrs. Clifford O’Shea and her family attended Kerry’s 38th All-Ireland victory at Croke Park. She also was present when Fossa defeated Stewartstown Harps in the All-Ireland Club Junior Soccer Championship game.
Eileen is survived by her loving sons, Shelly, her daughter, and her loving husband, Dermot Clifford. Following her death, the entire Kerry GAA organization, alongside her loved ones, are shocked and heartbroken.

Ellen Clifford Illness And Health Issue Before Death
After Paudie and David’s loving mother’s demise, people seek to learn more about Ellen Clifford’s illness and health issues before death.
Although it has been publicized that she passed away due to several long battles with illness, it is unknown what was the actual disease she was diagnosed with.
Ellen Clifford belonged to a fantastic GAA family from Ballymacelligott, just outside Tralee. Likewise, her partner, Dermot, is also heavily influenced by Fossa, a local club, with her two doting sons playing at the inter-country level and both clubs in recent years.
She frequently joined her spouse and their daughter Shelly on the sidelines of the numerous important occasions where they have appeared in recent years to support them.
Before Tipperary’s Munster Hurl Championship match against Cork on May 7, 2023, a moment of silence was observed in her honor at Páirc U Chaoimh.
Moreover, tributes have poured in since the news of her broke, with many people expressing their sympathies to the Clifford family on social media.
Following her death, one stated, “Some very sad news. The mother of Kerry footballers Paudie and David, Ellen Clifford, has died. All GAA supporters undoubtedly think of David, Paudie, their sibling Shelly, and their father Dermot during this heartwrenching time.”

As stated earlier, David and Paudie’s loving mother, Ellen Clifford, passed away following a chronic illness. She was a warm, loving, and kind personality, and her demise shocked the entire Kerry Gaa community and beyond.
Ellen was a supportive mother of her three children and always attended every event of her son David and Paudie. Having such a loving and doting mother was everything that the two football Kerry Gaa players could ever ask for.
After their mother’s demise, David and Paudie go through a tough time and need privacy and space.
Additionally, both of them were selected and all set to play in Sunday’s Munster SFC final for Kerry against Clare in Limerick at the TUS Gaelic Grounds. However, following Ellen Clifford’s death, it is not known whether the brothers will take part in the game.
In addition, Kerry Gaa star player Sean O’Shea also paid a vibrant tribute to Ellen Clifford and mentioned that one couldn’t ask for greater teammates than her kind sons Paudie and David.
