Unexpectedly, University of Michigan alumna and former twirler Erica Delgado passed away.
Erica Delgado, a longstanding resident of Los Angeles, California, was declared dead by the UMBAA (U-Mich Band Alumni Association) today, Wednesday, the 11th of October 2023.
Our thoughts and prayers are with her friends, family, and community during this trying time. For any alumni who might want to come, Erica’s family has provided the following information:
Services on October 13, 2023, at 4201 Whittier Boulevard, Los Angeles, California 90023, Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
The visitation will take place from 9:00 to 11:00 in the morning, and a graveside service will immediately follow. The family will make a later announcement on Erica Delgado obituary.
The entire family is encircled by an outpouring of love, thoughts, and prayers from individuals who care about them terribly during this trying time.

At the time of publication, Erica Delgado’s death had not yet been given a cause. Her family has, however, confirmed the tragic news. Erica will be sorely missed, but her contributions to the MMB’s twirler division will continue without her.
The University of Michigan Band Alumni Association expressed their sadness upon sharing Erica Delgado’s demise on September 25 (Twirler, 2005-2008) in their statement announcing her passing.
At all times, Erica set the bar high both on and off the field. More than just a great twirler, she was also a joy to watch because of how genuine, loving, and nice she was. Without Erica’s efforts, my time in college and with the band would not have been the same.
There was no one better to show you about Los Angeles, and she made an effort to stay upbeat and be welcoming even when things were challenging. Her positive attitude and outgoing nature on the field at earlier Homecomings will always be cherished memories.
Even though her death leaves a gap in the hearts of everyone, her legacy will continue to encourage subsequent generations to preserve and support the neighborhood he so deeply cared about.
