George Carlin died in 2008 following his decade-long heart problem. He was under medical supervision as he greatly suffered heart attacks in 1978, 1982, and 1991.

With such tremendous health difficulty, on June 22, 2008, at 71 years old, he passed away of heart failure in Santa Monica, California, at Saint John’s Health Center.
Likewise, his cause of death was pronounced to be heart failure. With his demise, his body was cremated, and his family scattered his ashes in front of various New York City nightclubs.
