Ivan Dmitrievich Barbashev is a Russian professional ice hockey player. He plays as a forward for the Vegas Golden Knights in the National Hockey League (NHL).
The player moved to North America in 2012, joining the Moncton Wildcats, but before he played hockey in Russia for different Russian Minor Hockey League teams.
During the 2014 NHL Entry Draft, the St. Louis Blues selected Barbashev 33rd overall and he made his NHL debut with the Blues in the 2016-17 season, in which he played a vital role in their Stanley Cup victory in 2019.

Sergei Barbashev was born on July 26, 1992, and is the older brother of Ivan, who was born on December 14, 1995. Both the brothers were born and raised in Moscow, Russia.
Like his younger brother, Sergei is also a professional ice hockey player and left-wing player who shoots left.
Likewise, Barbashev began his playing career in 2011 with CSKA Moscow. In the 2013 KHL Expansion Draft, Ivan was chosen as the 17th overall pick by Admiral Vladivostok. He was in his early twenties, making him the youngest player to be selected in the draft.
Further, in 2015, Barbashev was invited to attend the training camp of the Chicago Wolves, having been drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the 2014 NHL Entry Draft.
However, he was eventually released from the camp on October 4 without being offered a contract.

Ivan Barbashev got married to Ksenia Bezgodova at the age of 18 on July 23, 2014. They have been together since they were teenagers and began their relationship on May 4, 2013.
Likewise, Ksenia and Ivan both attended the Russian Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA). The duo tied the knot in a civil ceremony in Moscow with only their parents in attendance.
