Niolis Collazo was an assistant volleyball coach from the United States of America who coached the Waukegan High School boy’s team. Likewise, Collazo was a counselor for a Chicago-based program named Working On Womanhood.
In addition to that, Niolis also counseled and mentored girls at Waukegan Smith Middle School. Furthermore, Niolis was just 23 years old at the time of her death.
Her name had remained in the media for the past few days when her passing news was confirmed. Not to mention, Collazo lost her life in a shooting that happened on May 8, 2023.
Who Was Niolis Collazo?
Niolis Collazo was a young volleyball coach associated with the Waukegan Smith Middle School. Collazo is survived by her parents Nitza Rivera and Terry Joiner.
Reportedly, Collazo was in her first year at Waukegan Public Schools and worked as an assistant boys’ volleyball coach at Waukegan High School. Before that, she even played the sport.
Likewise, Niolis started working with young ladies at Smith Middle School in February 2023. Regarding her educational background, Collazo went to Waukegan High School and graduated in 2018.
Moreover, the late assistant volleyball coach was close to her family members, and all of them were shattered by her death.

Niolis Collazo Death And Obituary
Niolis Collazo died at the age of 23 on May 8, 2023. Following her death, the obituary was shared, and since then, tributes have been pouring on social media.
Meanwhile, Niolis was fatally shot on 10th Street and Lewis Avenue in Waukegan around 10:45 pm on May 8. Reportedly, Collazo’s car was one of two vehicles struck by gunfire.
The first vehicle, driven by a man, was not injured, and the second one was driven by Niolis. Collazo was taken to Vista East Medical Center following the shooting but couldn’t be saved.
Her sister Mia Carani opened up with the tabloids saying that Niolis was driving home to Waukegan from North Chicago when she called Mia to say she had forgotten her house keys.
As said above, the shooting incident happened in the area of 10th Street and Lewis Avenue and the whole moment was caught on surveillance video.

Niolis Collazo Murder Case Update
Niolis Collazo lost her life in a fatal shooting that happened on May 8, 2023. The recent murder case update has shown that two teenagers aged below 18 have been arrested.
The arrest came on Thursday in connection to the shooting. During the arrest warrant, the police officers also discovered six handguns.
Reportedly, one of the recovered handguns was said stolen out of Florida. The arrested teenagers have been charged as adults with three counts, each of first-degree murder.
Moreover, they are being held on a $5 million bond and are due in court Friday. More details regarding Niolis’ murder case will be updated in the future.
