Rose Howell Missing Update 2023: Is She Found Yet?
The youngster had been organizing her 19th birthday party and had hitchhiked to Bellingen on the day she vanished, according to evidence presented at a coronial inquest conducted in 2012 under the direction of the deputy state coroner, Magistrate P. A. MacMahon.
Rose’s mother reported her missing two days after failing to attend an appointment, even though she said it wasn’t unusual for her daughter to stay with friends in Bellingen.
Rose was described as being Caucasian in appearance, having an olive complexion, standing between 160 and 165 cm tall, having hazel eyes, and sporting short, dark hair styled in a mohawk at the time of her abduction.
The last time Rose Howell was seen alive, according to Magistrate MacMahon, in 2012, was by William Robb, who observed her strolling along Perrys Road in Repton as he drove by on his way to his daughter’s dancing performance.
The magistrate concluded that Rose Howell had passed away on the balance of probabilities but could not pinpoint the specifics based on the information presented.
The inquiry also heard testimony from many residents, including a former Toormina High School classmate who claimed to have seen Ms. Howell after April 11.
Ms. Howell was seen by Shaylee Smith, who was in the same year as her, twice on Monday, May 5, 2003, at Coffs Harbour and maybe once more a few days later.
However, Magistrate MacMahon stated that he was confident Ms. Smith was misinformed.

A $750,000 reward has been offered by the NSW Government and NSW Police Force in exchange for information on Rose Howell’s disappearance from the state’s north more than 20 years ago.
Rose Howell, then 18 years old, was last seen leaving her house in Bundagen, located about 25 kilometers south of Coffs Harbour, at about 6.15 pm on Friday, April 11, 2003, along Perry’s Road in Repton.
It was common for Rose to spend the night at one of her friend’s houses, and her mother knew that she had planned to meet friends in Bellingen.
Rose was reported missing to the police on April 13, 2003, when she failed to come home and meet her mother for an appointment at 11 am.
A coronial inquiry concluded in December 2012 that Ms. Howell had most certainly passed away, but the exact time, place, and circumstances of her demise were unknown.
