Udonis Haslem Death Hoax Debunked: What Happened To Miami Heat Star?

Udonis Haslem’s death is only a hoax spread all over the internet. Let’s see if anything has happened to Miami heat star yet.

On Monday night, Udonis Haslem made NBA Finals history as the Miami Heat defeated the Boston Celtics in Game 7 to go to the championship round.

Haslem became the NBA Finals’ second-oldest player, after only legends Robert Parish and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.

His wife, Faith Haslem, has supported Haslem throughout his NBA career. The couple met as both students at the University of Miami in 1999. He was on the basketball squad, while she was on the track and field team.

Udonis and Faith come from different dimensions. He grew up on Miami’s streets amid guns, drugs, and crime, but basketball saved his life.

Udonis Haslem’s death is just a rumor that is spread all over the internet. In fact, the Miami heat star is turning 43 this Friday.

Moreover, his career is taking a huge turnover. Udonis Haslem has had a successful 20-year NBA career.

The Miami Heat legend has been present at all seven of the franchise’s NBA Finals appearances, and he now has a league record that attests to his longevity.

Haslem, who will turn 43 on Friday, became the NBA Finals’ oldest player when he checked in in the final minute of Game 3 on Wednesday night at the Kaseya Center in Miami.

As the Nuggets defeated the Heat, 109-94, to take a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven Finals, he only attempted one field goal, which he missed.

Haslem beat Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s record of 42 years and 58 days when he participated in Game 4 of the 1989 NBA Finals for the Lakers against the Pistons.

What Happened To Miami Heat Star?

On Wednesday, Udonis Haslem, a veteran Miami Heat forward, played only 29.8 seconds in the Heat’s Game 3 loss to Denver in the NBA Finals.

Conversely, Haslem made history by becoming the oldest player to compete in an NBA Finals game. Haslem will be 43 on Friday, making him 42 years and 363 days old.

Kareem Abdul-Jabbar of the Los Angeles Lakers set the previous mark for the oldest player to appear in the finals. On June 13, 1989, Abdul-Jabbar was 42 years and 58 days old when he played in the finals.

Unfortunately for Haslem, his brief appearance came at the end of a 109-94 home loss in a key game for Miami. However, the record remains a tribute to Haslem’s endurance as he enters his 20th and last season.

In March, Haslem told Anthony Chiang of the Miami Herald that this would be his final season regardless of what happened.

Few could have imagined that the Heat would go on to have a final run at the time. However, with Miami now just three wins away from a championship, Haslem has a legitimate chance to round out his career with another triumph.
