Jimmy passed away peacefully on the evening of September 1st, surrounded by his family, friends, music, and dogs, according to a statement issued by the family.

Ethnicity And Family Details Of Jimmy Buffett

Buffett was born in Pascagoula, Mississippi, on December 25, 1946, and he also spent time growing up in Mobile and Fairhope, Alabama. He was the son of James Delaney Buffett Jr. and Mary Lorraine.

He attended St. Ignatius School during elementary school, participating in the school band and playing the trombone. 

His grandfather introduced him to sailing when he was young, and this exposure would later influence his music. In 1964, he received his high school diploma from Mobile’s Catholic McGill Institute for Boys. 

Before continuing his education at Pearl River Community College and the University of Southern Mississippi in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, where he earned a bachelor’s degree in history in 1969, he learned to play the guitar during his first year at Auburn University.

Buffett wed Margie Washichek in 1969, and the two later divorced. Buffett spent years honing the “Caribbean Rock n’ Roll” style while serving as first mate on entrepreneur Foster Talge’s yacht, the Petticoat III, near Key West. 

A radio personality named Savannah Jane, a filmmaker named Sarah Delaney, and an adopted son named Cameron Marley were all born to Buffett and his second wife, Jane. 

They also had a son named Cameron Marley and lived in Sag Harbor, New York, and Palm Beach, Florida. They split up in the early 1980s but got back together in 1991.

Buffett wrecked his Grumman G-44 Widgeon, N1471N, on August 25, 1994, at around 3:00 pm Eastern time, attempting to take off in the waters near Nantucket, Massachusetts. 

Buffett could swim safely after the plane overturned, suffering only minor wounds. His mother died on September 25, 2003, at 82, four months after his father passed away on May 1, 2003, at 83.
