The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office has made three arrests concerning the recent rock-throwing crime spree.

The incident occurred in Jefferson and Boulder County and resulted in the death of a 20-year-old woman.

The three suspects, 18 years old, were taken into custody at their parents’ homes in Arvada during the overnight hours of Tuesday and Wednesday.

The suspects have been identified as Joseph Koenig, Nicholas “Mitch” Karol-Chik, and Zachary Kwak, all seniors at different high schools in Jefferson County.

It is believed that the suspects have no connection to the victims of the crime spree. The case has garnered national attention due to its severity.

Zachary Kwak is one of the suspects arrested for throwing rocks in Jefferson and Boulder County, resulting in the death of a 20-year-old woman.

Three 18-year-olds have been arrested in connection with the rock-throwing crime spree that resulted in the death of Alexa Bartell.

The suspects were Joseph Koenig, Nicholas “Mitch” Karol-Chik, and Zachary Kwak.

They all are seniors at different high schools in Jefferson County and were taken into custody at their parents’ homes in Arvada.

They are all facing charges of first-degree murder – extreme indifference, with additional charges expected to be filed later.

The suspects allegedly threw a large rock, either from a vehicle or the side of the road, at Bartell’s car, causing her death.

There were seven victims that night, with two sustaining minor injuries and multiple vehicles damaged.

The investigation was conducted with the support of various law enforcement agencies and the public, providing 300 tips that helped identify the suspects.

Reportedly, Bartell was driving north on Indiana Street around 10:45 p.m. on April 19 when she was hit by a large rock thrown at her car from another vehicle or the roadside.

The suspects were driving a black 2016 Chevy Silverado, but it is unclear which one was driving during the crime spree. 

Bartell was on a phone call with a friend when her line went dead, and her friend found her dead inside her vehicle that had gone into a field off the road.

Law enforcement has not identified which of the three men might have been driving the vehicle or throwing rocks during the crime spree.

Colorado Zachary Kwak: Is He In Jail?

Zachary Kwak was arrested in connection with the rock-throwing crime spree that resulted in the death of Alexa Bartell, along with two other 18-year-old suspects.

It is not yet confirmed if he is in jail. However, given that they are facing charges of first-degree murder, it is likely that he is being held in custody.

The investigators were pleased to inform Alexa Bartell’s family and other victims about the arrests.
