He stunned everyone with a time of 9.99 seconds, a new personal best, to win the gold medal in the Boys’ Class One 100m on day two of the ISSA/GracceKennedy Boys and Girls’ Athletics Championships organized at the National Stadium.
Furthermore, he has had a strong season, smashing the Corporate Area Development Meet record with 10.40 seconds, obliterating the 10.45 set by Calabar High School’s Edward Clarke in 2015.

Bouwahjgie Nkrumie smashed the Class 1 Boys’ record in the semi-final round at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships on Wednesday (March 29, 2023).
He stormed to a time of 10.08 seconds, beating the previous record of 10.12 seconds set by Zharnel Hughes of Kingston College in 2014. It represents the first time a Jamaican junior sprinter dipped below 10 seconds.
Apart from that, Dr. Speed won two silver medals at last year’s World U20 Championships. He is a rising star and has already participated in many championships.
Dr. Speed has finished first in many championships, including World Athletics U20 Championships, Pascual Guerrero Stadium, Cali (2022) and Youngster Goldsmith National Athletic Classic, National Stadium, Kingston (2023).
