David died Wednesday, September 7, 2022, in Los Angeles, California, U.S.

According to USA TODAY, David’s family announced in a statement shared with them by Arnold’s representative Rob Greenwald.

Releasing a statement, his wife, Julie, confirmed David passed away peacefully in his Los Angles-based home, and doctors have ruled the cause of death due to natural reasons.

What Happened To David Arnold?

David’s wife, following his death, has requested to respect our privacy at this time as they are devastated.

According to sources, the veteran stand-up comedian made his living performing, acting, producing, and writing for TV series. Arnold was three stops into a four-month national comedy tour during his death and performed stand-up on platforms including HBO, Netflix, and BET.

David was one of the few Black showrunners in Hollywood, having written and produced several TV shows, including the 2020 comedy series “Bigger” on BET+.

The veteran stand-up comedian began performing in 1997. David performed at the Canadian Montreal Comedy Festival on Jamie Foxx’s Laffapalooza, which appeared on Comedy Central with Jamie Foxx and Cedric the Entertainer.

Besides these TV shows, he appeared in The Tom Joyner Show; Comics Unleashed with Byron Allen, ComicView, Baisden After Dark, Entourage, The Mo’Nique Show, and Def Comedy Jam.

David Arnold is married to Julie L. Harkness. Julie and David have two children.

Julie’s father, Jerry Harkness, is a three-time Hall of Famer who made the longest shot in professional basketball history. He represented Loyola of Chicago as Captain and recipient MVP of the 1963 NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship.

His wife, Julie, is a trained dancer and reporter who has served for Disney and Broadway. She showcases stints with Walt Disney Productions and worked for Broadway productions like “The Will Rogers Follies” and “Hello Dolly.”

Pittsburgh’s Point Park University graduate Julie has shot more than 35 national commercials and acted in the movies That Thing You Do, starring Tom Hanks and Bob Roberts, starring Tim Robbins.

African American descendant Julie served as a Radio City Rockette for ten years. She traveled across the country as their top spokesperson making numerous appearances, including on The Today Show, Bravo, and CNN.

 His wife stepped into the position as Creative Director, assisting Executive Producer and Creator of the show, Anthony W. Johnson, in 2016.
