In a plea agreement covering his 10 cases in Orange County for impersonating an officer and other related charges, Jeremy Dewitter was given an 18-month prison sentence last year.
The notorious imposter was so fixated on appearing to be a Police officer that he established his own “Police” division, complete with cruisers and uniforms.
When DeWitte was found guilty of “lewd lascivious battery sex” with a minor and ordered to register as a sex offender in 2005, he lost his chance to become an honest Police officer.
His impersonating Police activity dates back two decades to 2003, when he was sentenced to a year in prison for the first time.
Is Jeremy Dewitte In Jail?Â
Jeremy Dewitter was released from Perry, Florida’s Taylor County Correctional Institution, on September 10 and is no longer in jail.
Jeremy Charles DeWitte, a notorious fake Police officer and registered sex offender, was Florida’s most prolific Police impersonator, even launching his mini-police force with 18 “cruisers.” He has since been released from prison.
DeWitte, obsessed with being a Police officer, spent years pretending to be one in Central Florida. He also recruited other would-be cops to join his small force, Metro-State Special Services, which was once called a “cult.”
The unit had 18 realistic black and white cruisers and motorcycles with flashing lights, air horns, and sirens. Members were uniformed like officers; one was later detained for carrying a real gun.
According to reports, DeWitte once told an investigator that becoming a Police officer had always been his dream job because it would boost his ego to wear the uniform and be respected by the general public.

However, DeWitte and the men from his now-defunct Company in the Orlando region were not sworn to serve, protect, or fight crime.
They weren’t sworn to anything at all. Their sole responsibility was to accompany funeral processions on Florida’s highways and backroads, sometimes referred to as “God’s waiting room” because so many people have funerals there.
What Did Jeremy Dewitte Do?
DeWitte was seen racing and weaving through traffic on his official-looking Police BMW motorcycle in a video he made and released by the Orange County Sheriff’s Office.
He was seen frighteningly riding at high speed against oncoming traffic while blaring his air horn and siren, controlling traffic at intersections, and berating and cursing other drivers. He cursed a woman driver whom he pulled over while blaring his siren, referring to her as a “dumb white b***h in a blue car.”
She called 911 to report him because she was shocked and upset, believing he was an honest Police officer who had gone crazy.
Jeremy Dewitte Arrest And Charges
Dewitte was sentenced to 18 months in prison with credit for 110 days served last September to end his reign of highway terror as part of a plea agreement involving 10 cases in which he was accused of impersonating an officer and other related offences in Orange County.
The former fictitious Police officer will be released from Perry, Florida’s Taylor County Correctional Institution, on September 10 and be subject to four years of supervised probation, an ankle monitor requirement, and a six-month driver’s license suspension.

He is prohibited from having firearms or any other law enforcement gear, including uniforms, vehicles, and tools, under the plea agreement’s terms.
However, he contends that all the charges against him are false and that he is not guilty of impersonating a Police officer, deceiving numerous innocent motorists, or endangering the public.
