Jordan Neely’s mother, Christie Neely, was murdered by her boyfriend, Shawn Southerland. His Father Andre, has also talked about the incident and said that Christie’s death shattered Jordan the most.
Christie was killed in 2007 when she was 36 years old. Christie was strangled by a partner in the family’s New Jersey House and was later found in a suitcase thrown off a highway in the Bronx borough.
Her son, Jordan, also testified during the trial of his mother’s killer. Following the trial, the alleged murderer Shawn was sentenced to 30 years in jail in March 2012 as he was found guilty of murder.
Neely’s aunt Carolyn Neely also said her nephew had not been the same person after the death of his mother. Following Jordan’s death, Carolyn also started a fundraiser on GoFundMe. All of the donations would be used for Jordan’s funeral expenses.

Who Killed Jordan Neely On Subway?
Jordan Neely was killed by a white man on Subway whose name has not been revealed by the Police department yet. Neely was 30 years old at the time of his death.
On May 3, 2023, Neely was choked to death in a subway car as he complained about being homeless, hungry, and thirsty. Following that, the young man was confronted by a man, reportedly a U.S. Marine veteran.
The U.S. Marine veteran was in a chokehold for several minutes. His name has not been shared, but it is reported that he is just 24 years old.
Moreover, no charges have been filed, but the Manhattan district attorney’s office is investigating.
