She received training at MacArthur Rams under the Girls Skills Acquisition Program (GSAP). Kennedy referred to her childhood “second home” as the Rams practice facility. 

In the National Women’s Soccer League, Kennedy signed a contract with the Western New York Flash in 2016.

In 2016, she participated in 17 games for the Flash. As the Flash won the 2016 NWSL Championship, Kennedy participated in all 90 minutes of Western New York’s two playoff games.

In a game between Orlando Pride and Kennedy in May 2018. Sam Witteman, a midfielder for the Orlando Pride, was acquired in exchange for Kennedy on January 19, 2017. 

For the Pride in 2017, she participated in each game. On September 30, Kennedy scored the game-winning goal from a free kick in stoppage time in the last regular-season game. 

With this victory, Orlando finished the regular season in third place and earned a playoff berth for the first time in the team’s existence.
