Satya Pal Malik is an Indian politician who recently served as the Governor of Meghalaya from August 18, 2020, to October 3, 2022. Also, he is recognized for being the last Governor of the erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir.

Satyapal Malik is in controversy following serious allegations against the Modi government over corruption and the 2019 Pulwama attack in an interview with The Wire.

The news of Satyapal Malik’s detention has created confusion among people, but there is no fact about it. He was not arrested. Deputy Commissioner of Police Manoj C said they had not detained Satyapal.
Malik reportedly arrived at P.S. R K Puram Police Station along with his supporters on Saturday. Manoj C also revealed they had informed him that he could leave at his own will.
Meanwhile, Delhi Police also confirmed the fake news about Malik’s arrest circulating on social media, denying all of them. Furthermore, the news of Satyapal’s arrest came into the media when was objected to holding a meeting at an MCD park in R K Puram.
